Friendsgiving.

video
We didn't make it home for thanksgiving this year. It is the first year I didnt see my fam on thanksgiving and I was a little sad about it. Lucky for us, we have a great group of friends out here...who REALLY know how to cook, and we had an amazing day. This video pretty much sums it up. Thanks Simmons...you guys saved thanksgiving.

i (chart) you.

I never thought I would. But I did.

I, no, WE...opened an etsy shop. Last christmas my sister alissa wanted a geneology chart to put up in her house. She saw some nice ones online but she really wanted chris to design her something different. He took the challenge, and came up with a design we all fell in love with. Note to all the single ladies: marry a graphic designer...he will become the favorite brother/son in law instantly, and you will get free baby shower invites, christmas cards and stationary for life. Anyway, my sister loved her chart, and has been trying to get us to do them for others ever since. Chris has been BUSY at school which has left me home in the evenings. I realized a good side project wasnt a bad idea. SO, we put together a few color combos and have officially set up shop.

you can find us right here, i (chart) you.

what we have been up to

where have we been? right here. in NYC.

we havent been anywhere, but we have been busier than ever.

Chris started school and couldnt be loving it more. He comes home from class jazzed about branding, and every day that makes me smile. I hate not seeing him but am super grateful jamie and taylor live downstairs. Poor taylor...I am there nearly every night. sorry man. I am so proud of chris, working all day then going to class at night. it is more than I could do, that is for sure, but he is being such a trooper.

I have been insanely busy at work. We are in the height of wedding season, so that means we are working late and working weekends...but the timing is good. With chris gone in the evenings anyways, it isnt too bad. AND we have had an amazing season...one good event after another!!

Jamie and I have taken to make dinner together (or when im crazy at work she cooks for all of us) and we have had some GREAT meals. Tonight it was black bean soup...yum!

man, I wish I had more to say...but between all of the above there isnt much time for other things!!

for some reason I am way better at keeping my instagram updated. follow me if you want our life in iphone pics!!

have you met my friend...

Kelsey (Egan) Nixon? Well, if you haven't, you should. You can meet her every Saturday on the cooking channel, on her show Kelsey's Essentials. Not only is Kelsey one of my favorite girls in NYC to grab a movie with, or just chat for hours...she is SO much fun to watch on TV. And she has the best recipes. We cant watch the show on sundays anymore because then we cant run to the store and get everything we need to make whatever she featured on the show that day. Our latest favorite is her Watermelon Lime Granita. It is TO. DIE. FOR. Don't be intimidated like I was...it is SO easy to make...and you too can get that flaky ice texture (just like it looks on TV!!!) here is the recipe. You wont regret it.
