i am a bride.

I always wanted to say that. ive planned, attended, bridesmaided hundreds of weddings. some were a complete joy, others made me want to pull my hair out but through all of it it was a job, or a favor or support.

now im the bride. its so surreal. and SO SO much fun. I hope i dont eat my words down the line, but im hoping my time in new york dealing with these sweet little creatures helps to keep me out of the bridzilla category...but i guess only time will tell!!

For those of you who are close, you've seen him around, for those of you who are far away, youve seen him here. but just to make it official...

Come February 6th, 2010 I will be married to this man.

You will then be able to call me Kimberly Harman Crosby (yes dad, keeping that harman in there is for you)

You want the stats?
Name: Christopher Lee Crosby
Height: 6'5"
Weight: Uhh...dont know
Age: 28 (dont be mad babe, its something i love about you)
Occupation: VERY VERY VERY VERY talented graphic designer
Favorite Food: suuuushi.
color he looks best in: blue and mint green

and now is where 99% of you can stop reading because you already heard the story. but for those of you who have 5 minutes to kill and would like to know how he made Nov 3rd the best day of my life...read on.

Rewind to last friday, i wont go into all the gory details but we had some VERY strong assurance from above that we were MFEO (see sleepless in Seattle). We both hit the pillows that night KNOWING that we had the big blessing from above and eternity together is a go.

By sunday we decided "what are we waiting for", to know we are head over heels in love? nope. to know our families are on board? no way, we totally have that one covered. to feel good about it? again, nope. SO WHAT? nothing is the answer we came to. absolutely nothing. so we decided on ASAP.

Monday was impossible. Now that we we knew we were getting married, i wanted to TELL EVERYONE, and couldnt. i wanted to be engaged NOOOW. chris "claimed" he did. but when i asked him if he wanted to go ring shopping that night he insisted on going to FHE. fhe? really? I told him this is the most IMPORTANT fhe you will ever have. ever. building your eternal family? without THIS fhe, there can be no future FHE's. Needless to say, i was bugged. That night he called after FHE and said he had to go see a friend who was having a hard time. Id like to say i was patient and understanding, but i said something like, "wow, that was ambiguous" give me a break, i was feeling like a friend who was having a hard time. i was jealous, get over it. anyway, i kind of shaped up, told him i understood and went to bed. Oh, i did also ask him why my dad wanted his number. im stupid, im clueless, i believed my dad when he said it had to do with golf clubs. Chris should have stuck to the same lie...instead he just added one mark in the bugged box.

Tuesday. about 4:30 i get a text from chris saying work was mellow and he was going to head up to slc early and try to catch the last of the daylight. He said he had a great idea for our save the date (hes a graphic designer, who am i to doubt him). He said he wanted to take some pictures of our first date and call me when i was done to see where he was so i could meet him. Called at 5:01, tired, still a little bugged about the vagueness the night before, but excited to see my boyfriend. Anyway, he was at gilgal gardens, i pulled up (still the thought he would propose has NOT crossed my mind, i know im clueless). he took me to a very nice spot, told me he was a liar (good way to start this thing off, huh). that he had asked my parents permission over tacos at 11:30pm the night before, and that they were this DESPERATE friend in need, that my dad may have mentioned golf clubs in the conversation on the phone on monday (but when do golf clubs NOT come up in a conversation with my father), but the main topic of conversation was my hand in marriage. oh how traditional. He said he couldnt wait another minute to be engaged (NOW i realize what is going on) and Im sure he said some verrrry verrry nice things, but i cannot remember them. he pulls out the BEAUTIFUL ring. I bawled. what i do remember is when he threw in not one, but 2 pleases with..."will you please, please marry me" i cried more, i said yes, of course...and well the rest is history.

long winded enough? probably.

Needless to say, i cant talk about him without smiling from ear to ear. noelle said it best the other day when she said with all sincerity in her voice, kimmy, you are SOO lucky. I am. he is perfect for me in every way and i could not be more excited to call him my FIANCE.

xoxo

Who is this handsome devil you say...? answer. my boyfriend. pretty good stuff.
(inquire within for details)

its my birthday...so I will learn to do what I want to!

25. The number i turned yesterday.

How did i bring in this milestone year?

ON THE BEACH. Ive decided birthday trips are the very best way to go.

Chris and I hopped in the car thursday night and SET off...
I learned quickly that because this trip fell over my birthday that I GOT WHATEVER i wanted the whole weekend.
I learned to love the phrase..."its your birthday, whatever you want."

Chris's grandma insisted on this picture, so I figured you would like it too grandma...that one is for you. (see it isnt ALL about me)

Balboa Island. Ever been there? NO? GOOO. it is so charming.
we rode over on this cute little ferry.

I just loved the quaint houses, the little main street...

...the taffy...

...the frozen bananas...and balboa bars. We had so much fun just cruising around.

Dont worry, I was taken care of on my birthday. woke up to these. what more could a california birthday girl ask for. flip flops in my chocolate cupcakes.
Chris indulged me and took me to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
then we had this bad boy for lunch...
birthday bagel!!! complete with cream cheese, avocado, tomato, and lemon pepper. yum.

Before we headed back on the road we got to enjoy the beach one last time. it was heaven. every birthday should include a little of this...

ALL in ALL it was a PERFECT birthday. 25 is looking REALLY good!

great finds.

mom and i had a perfect saturday afternoon. and, i dont know why the text is blue. and bold. and underlined. bear with me.

anyway. we had a perfect saturday. it started with pedicures. which was just what we needed.
then lunch.
then we made a little stop at the D.I. a TV table for our newly furnished basement!
we scored.
First lets set the stage...

Last week sweet Aunt Sue sent emily home with these...

arnt they perfect. oh good now the text is black. and not bold. and still underlined.
we love these couches. they are perfect for our room downstairs that has...until now...been good for not much more than a dance party.

So we went to DI. and came across this lovely item.
how much?
try 15 dollars on for size.

Isnt it great. back to blue i guess.

Next we found the TV table, which i apparently forgot to take a picture of.
10 dollars.

Then, this adorable little magazine rack.
10 dollars. it was especially adorable after we picked off the piece of chewed up blue gum off the bottom.

Lastly. weird. now the computer decided we will be plain black. im okay with that.
Lastly, we found this treasure.
enough said.

Its framed. the fame is so ghetto, but im pretty sure it will stay in that frame.

after all our great finds at D.I. we went to see baby ella. and ryan surprised me with a nice little, much wanted addition to my bike. I know most of you will not notice a difference. but that little red tape on the handle bars makes all the difference in the world to me. In my eyes, it takes my boy bike and turns it into a girl bike. RIGHT in time for the spudman. which is in T-2 weeks. Which is too close.
THANK YOU RYAN~!!!!!!!!!!

where in the world is kimmy harman...

My uncle kent has been asking.
My grandma Lota has been asking.
And dont worry, Im here. Right here in Salt Lake City and
LOVING IT!!!!
I know I have said it before, but I have never been happier. I love living so close to Baby ELLA,
Al and Ryan, and Mom and Dad.

Work is going great, I really love it. The people could not be better.
I love the work. I love the business.

Im learning to love prom dresses again...

Ask me how many dresses I came home with this last week when we had a sale on our PROM gowns...
Guess. No seriously, guess.
1? that would be reasonable. I mean I work with these dresses ALL day long, I should have one in my closet. Right?
I was marking the dresses pre-sale. and I found this beauty. i figured I will probably never wear it, but it is good to have.
I mean, its the essence of our prom line. Good to have. I will take it.
Well then I actually went to the sale. I got in early as an employee, and...
well. I saw this dress in blue and didn't love it. then in light pink...too sweet.
But then, I found the magenta version. It was much more sophisticated than the light blue or the light pink.
It was kind of stunning. in a prom dress, you can never wear, kind of way.
The design girls said it was stunning on...
okay. 2 is a good number. I will get 2 prom dresses.

But THEN...i came across this short little thing. and lets be honest. If Im ever going to go to a great
new years ever party...short is much more wearable. I could never find a cocktail dress for 25 dollars.
3 prom dresses. excessive...maybe. but i mean, im supporting the company.

OH MAN. 3 prom dresses really should me MORE than enough. MORE.
but what about Halloween? I had to have it.
Chiquita Banana lady? Im ready.
4 dresses. you guessed it. 4.
ridiculous.
* disclaimer. YES, ALLLLL of these LOVELY items will need a nice little shrug, jacket, bolero or shawl to accompany them.
**grandma, the live model action is for you. I heard you were disappointed in alissa's on the hanger cop out.
